LMS Winter Game schedule

 

LAKESHORE OPENS THE SEASON SPLITTING WITH OWIB

Lakers Girls Basketball faced a tough opponent last night in Oakwood IB. JV girls showed out with a strong defensive effort, only holding Oakwood to 13 points in the game. Final score was Lakeshore 21, Oakwood 13. Special coaches shout out to Taylor Mason for the great hustle all game! Great team win ladies! Varsity girls faced a tough loss with the final score being 48-16. Coaches shoutout  to Madelyn Gordan for playing great defense throughout the course of the game! Next Monday, both teams will take on Woodland Heights at home, come out to support your Lakers! Good luck to both teams!

LAKESHORE’S JV GIRLS DROP THEIR SECOND GAME TO WHMS

Lakeshore’s girls JV team lost it’s second game of the season to the Braves of WHMS.

The Varsity game was postponed to January 16th

LAKESHORE GIRLS TAKE DOWN BIB

JV and Varsity girls both came away with the win against Brawley IB last night. Both games were a complete team effort! The girls showed great defensive grit and amazing leadership! Congratulations to both teams!

LAKESHORE SECURES WINS AGAINST THE MUSTANGS

Girls basketball faced off against a very physical WIMS team last night! JV played with great intensity and earned the win, with the final score being 29 to 9. Taylor Mason led all scorers with 12 points. Lily Forystek shined in multiple fast break opportunities, converting two back-to-back layups! Varsity had a great showing last night, and played with great team chemistry! The final score was 45-11! Jocelyn Diaz led all scorers with 13 points and shined on defense all night! Kayla Russo was the second leading scorer with 9 points, including a couple of 3’s. She was also dishing out assists all game! Maddie Gordon was also a standout last night by running the floor and getting layup after layup. Congratulations to both teams last night!

LAKESHORE SWEEPS THE KNIGHTS FROM EIMS

Your JV girls basketball played against a tough Oakwood IB team last night, with the final score being Oakwood 26 and Lakeshore 11. Addie Vollrath led our scoring with 6 points. Lily Forystek came in and brought the intensity by grabbing rebounds and pushing the ball up the floor. Lileigh Smith and Paige Volpe also pitched in by each scoring a basket. 

 
Varsity Girls played EIMS last night at home. The girls came out with the win, final score being 42-13. The girls played amazing defense, generating steals all night through our stifling full-court press and our 2-3 half-court defense. Leighton Lowrie led all scorers with 15 points. Maddie Gordon was next in line with 8, and Mackayla Russo pitched in 6. Both girls teams will play at Oakwood next Monday!

LAKESHORE SUCCOMBS TO LEAGUE LEADING OWIB

The girls teams faced off against OWIB at their place. JV came away with the win, final score being 19-17. The girls were down at the half 14-5, but completed a major comeback win, holding Oakwood to just 3 points in the second half! Addie Vollrath played stellar defense all night against their best player, barely allowing her to get the ball. Talyor Mason also provided some clutch steals towards the end of the game, which ensured the win for the team!

 
Varsity faced a very tough Oakwood team last night. The final score was 48-23 with Oakwood coming out on top. Despite the loss, they still fought hard and played as a team! Kayla Russo delivered some nice pocket passes that led to easy layups. Ta’Miah Lineberger led the team in scoring with 8 points, and Leighton Lowrie added 7 points, including a 3-pointer. The girls will take on Third Creek Middle on Wednesday at home! Go Lakers!!!

 

LAKESHORE VARSITY TAKES DOWN TCMS

Varsity girls basketball faced off against TCMS last night here at home. The final score was 48-12, with Lakeshore coming out on top! The game was a complete team effort with everybody scoring at least once. Leighton Lowrie led all scorers with 10 points. Kayla Russo, Berkley Rehrer, and Ka’Myiah Blake all contributed with 8 points each. Varsity and JV will be back in action on Monday at West Iredell Middle!

 

LAKERS ROUT WIMS

Both girls teams tooks on WIMS last night and came away with big wins! The JV girls played stellar defense and held West to only 2 points! The Lakers scored 33 points, most of them being from the fast break. Ta’Miah Lineberger was grabbing offensive boards all night and putting them up for easy points at the rim, leading all scorers with 10 points. Lileigh Smith also contributed with 7 points of her own, Laney Fink and Taylor Mason both chipped in with 6. They played an all-around great game!
 
Varsity also faced off against a physical West Iredell. The girls didn’t take their foot off the pedal all game. The final score was 53-15! The girls played stifling defense all game long and forced countless turnovers. Leighton Lowrie scored 19 points and found her teammates for open looks all night. Berkley Rehrer added 12 points and also had some great passes. Kayla Russo shined last night by euro-stepping past her defender for the And-1 layup!! She also contributed 10 points to the win. Great win last night to both teams!!!
